Using JAVA Enterprise Edition and and Google's Android Platform Snappy built the JAWS system, used for creating and allocating carriageway maintenance jobs to its gangs using Mobile phones and Tablet devices. The fully integrated mobile solution provided seamless work-flow, allowed operational staff to allocate and gangs to send-in works updates images using mobile devices. The solution has allowed SSPA and its clients to see re-time job progress, reduce operational overheads whilst avoiding penalties for late running works and unnecessary rectification charges.
